A client school in the heart of Birmingham has approached Edustaff in helping them recruit a first rate Psychology graduate to work within their SEN department as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. The position is full time (during term time), running for the length of the academic year until July 2018.
The school is well respected part of the local community. This respect comes from occupying a very pleasant open location, bright classrooms and excellent facilities throughout. The teaching is also of a high standard. Ofsted visited the school in 2012 and deemed the school to be a 'Good' school with some elements of teaching provision being 'Outstanding'. Pupils at the school enjoy their learning and their high attendance is a reflection of this.
The School's SENCO is keen to supplement their department with an enthusiastic and committed Psychology graduate Teaching Assistant who can evaluate the needs of pupils in school as well as formulate learning plans.
In your role as a Teaching Assistant, you will work at the school in a supporting capacity. It is probable that you would be working across the curriculum with a range of students with SLD (specific learning difficulties) like dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia. You will be supported by the Special Educational Needs Coordinator, who will provide the successful Teaching Assistant with training and feedback to ensure you are developing the learning standards of the pupils fully, as well as your own.
This opportunity should provide the successful graduate the experience and skills necessary to continue their career as an Educational Psychologist or Teacher
