Our client based in Farnham is looking for an experienced Lab Technician.
Reporting to: Technical Manager
Job Purpose:
To assist in laboratory work for product improvement and development as well as technical service.
Key Responsibilities;
To perform laboratory work according to business needs.
To ensure that product related activities are progressed and completed in a timely manner.
To write reports when necessary on technical work.
To be actively engaged in the health and safety, product improvement and development
programmes.
To assist other technical personnel, production, QC and sales departments.
Job Activities:
To prepare laboratory powder and coated samples for product evaluation and colour matching.
To perform product testing using a range of techniques. (Training will be provided): Particle size analysis. Adhesion. Stability/heat/cold testing. Corrosion & mechanical testing. Tensile
properties. Spectrometry.
To write reports on laboratory work and projects.
To write SOPs and check that relevant technical and QC documentation is maintained.
To ensure the analytical equipment is serviced and provide information on new suitable
analytical techniques.
To ensure compliance and improvements in health and safety.
Qualifications, Experience and Requirements;
Science degree background or equivalent, preferably chemistry or similar.
Good communication and team working skills.
Numerate and literate.
Require minimum supervision and be self-motivated.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Practical knowledge of corrosion, an advantage.
Experience in a manufacturing environment an advantage.
