The Experian Credit Services, Consumer Information Services division provides a whole range of clients with consumer information solutions, helping HR, Credit & Risk and Collections Professionals to improve their respective business functions, utilising Experian's unique data assets, analytics capability and proprietary software. Experian's Consumer Information Reports and generic or bespoke application processing platforms help our clients to validate their customer's financial viability and assign appropriate contract terms, payment terms, pricing and surety. Subsequent collection strategies are also educated utilising Experian sourced external payment data highlighting where customers are having trouble elsewhere.

Experian have an exciting vacancy for a Data Consultant within the Data Management team. Data accuracy is of the utmost importance to Experian and our clients. It is critical that we manage our data to the highest standards to ensure that we can represent consumers accurately and support a frictionless credit journey for consumers and businesses. Our Data Consultants are responsible for on-boarding new data, as well as supporting our suppliers in the on-going management of that data. This includes monitoring and consulting on data quality improvements, managing project work for clients, advising on data queries from our clients and internal stakeholders, and supporting internal data development projects.

As a subject matter expert, you will get involved in internal and external projects that have a direct impact on our client's ability to make informed decisions, and the way consumers are represented to financial and other industries. As such, the successful applicant will demonstrate excellent data and project management skills, an eye for detail, and be an excellent communicator.

Key Responsibilities
Understand the data usage within Experian and within the client domainSpecify and test changes to the data capture, maintenance and storage within the bureauConsult on data production for clients and software suppliersAdvise on new developments and methodologies to be usedDefine, document and manage the load of new data assetsCarry out and when required, supervise others carrying out, the extraction, formulation and manipulation of data to create the structured data extracts necessary to address business requirement.Be the direct point of contact for data suppliers on all data matters, including, from time to time, on site visits to support clients.Provide analysis and consultation on data quality issues for clients, and manage projects for changes to data supply and data quality from conception to completionLiaise with our technical partner to ensure all project work is scheduled appropriatelySet-up data maintenance processes, with focus on ensuring compliant processing of dataProvide continuity and support to the Go to Market and wider Consumer Information team on data queries and projects
Skill Requirements
Essential:
Degree or equivalent standard.Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc).PC literate with experience in the use of statistical (e.g., SAS, SQL, Alteryx, MS Access) and IT packages.Experience of risk management products working in a financial services environment. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Strong relationship management skills.Excellent planning and organising capabilities.Commercially astute.Good decision making capability.Able to interpret technical features into commercial benefits.
Desirable:
Experience of leading small to medium sized projects within a large complex organisation. Client facing problem solving experience.Good understanding of CAIS data, and its uses within Experian products.Data management and processing experience.Experience supporting a demanding sales team.
