Experienced Head /Sous Chef - Whitehaven, Cumbria
Based in Whitehaven, Cumbria, the Distressed Sailor is a very popular, shabby - chic seafood and grill, boasting a relaxing atmosphere with notable features such as a steering wheel from a boat and an eye catching nautical chart on the wall.
At our seafood restaurant, we also offer delicious steaks, Sunday Roasts and takeaway pizza, so we are happy to cater for all tastes!
The building is an eye opening 200 years old, and has been completely refurbished from top to bottom and decorated in a shabby chic style. You are able to enjoy various mouth watering dishes, under beautiful nautical lights, which add to the ambience of the restaurant and the nautical theme.
We are looking for a chef who has a genuine passion for producing good quality food using the freshest ingredients. Someone who delivers day in and day out and is prepared to get stuck in and work within the team. As Sous Chef you will have overall responsibility in the kitchen, you will have to prepare, cook and present our menu to high standards every time and comply with hygiene, food safety and health and safety rules.
As a Chef you will:
Comply with food hygiene and health and safety rules
Prepare, cook and present our menu to the same high standard every time
Work well under pressure as a part of the team
Experience as a chef in a similar environment
Fully eligible to work in the UK
Live in accommodation is available for the correct candidate.
