Our automotive design and engineering consultancy client have a brand new exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic engineer to join their Structural analysis team.
Our client offers design, engineering and manufacturing services across the automotive industry and is currently engaged in some of the most challenging and innovative projects in the industry.
As the FEA engineer you will be responsible for constructing, running and evaluating finite element models of vehicles using Altair's Hyperworks (and other tools).
You will be expected to mesh geometry and complete all model build activities in Hyper Mesh / Hyper Crash and to perform post-process analysis using Hyper View.
You will hold 3 years' experience in a similar position, demonstrating a strong engineering aptitude with great drive for implementing new ideas and achieving goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and highlight any areas of continuous improvement for processes, procedures, systems and equipment.
- Conduct mesh 'discretisation' of complete vehicle architecture incorporating composite and metallic structures.
- Conduct static and dynamic stiffness analyses in Radioss Bulk
- Conduct optimisation analyses in Optistruct.
- Conduct dynamic impact analyses and material characterisation in Radioss Block
- Responsible for FE result interrogation and appraisal.
- Provide input to continuous improvement of our FE modelling strategies.
- Support and appraise the outsourced FE work conducted by technical partners.
- Support vehicle passive safety programs.
- Support structural development programs.
- Schedule own activities to provide engineering deliverables that meet required specifications within timescales and budgets.
- Plan and maintain progress in improving personal professional competence.
