Job Description:

Graduates, interns and placements are key to the overall success of CH2M. CH2M are looking for keen and enthusiastic engineers to work on a broad range of projects covering all aspects of flood risk management including assessments, solution development and preparation of business case documents across our water business. Our current projects involve initial assessments, reservoir remediation works, catchment strategies, coastal erosion studies and management of detailed design. We provide advice and support to public and private sector organisations to deliver projects for our key clients including the Environment Agency and local councils. We are looking for staff who delight in developing multi-disciplinary solutions with the other team members and enjoy working in the fast moving pace of the appraisal and solution development arena. Tasks will involve data gap analysis, data gathering, stakeholder engagement, solution development, optioneering, buildability reviews with contractors, cost benefit analysis and business and economic appraisal. Reporting to Project and Package Managers the successful candidate will play a key part in our delivery teams, principally in the; * Support of appraisal studies and the technical delivery of flood risk management planning projects for the Environment Agency and other local clients * Support data gathering, site visits, walkover surveys * Assist with environmental data gathering exercises * Provide analytical support such as incremental benefit analysis and economic appraisals * Preparation and contribution of technical reports and notes and business case development * Assisting in development of strategies and plans and taking responsibility for task management The minimum qualifications for this position are: We expect our candidates to have graduated with or expecting to graduate with a minimum 2.1 or Merit Bachelors/ Masters degree in or related to Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Flood Risk Management etc. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience: * Strong data analysis using Microsoft excel and numerical skills is preferred * Understanding of the UK's approach to Flood Risk Management and how it is funded and implemented is preferred * Competent report writing skills with knowledge of scheme appraisals and economic assessment is highly desirable * Confident communication skills such as the ability to communicate technical analysis to a non-technical audience How to apply If you are interested in applying to us for these roles please submit your application with an up-to-date resume.
