Our client is a project management company providing services into the food processing, chemical and pharmaceutical product industries, due to their continuing growth they are looking to recruit an experienced Process Engineer to be based out of their office in the Huddersfield area. The process engineer will take a leading role on a variety of projects within the company which will involve working closely with the client to interpret the client's wishes to develop process flow sheets, carrying out DSEAR and other safety assessments. You will need to prepare process proposals and budget costs seeing these through to the process engineering and commissioning that would arise from these projects.
The Process Engineer role needs someone with a degree in chemical engineering or similar and a strong working knowledge of the process industry. A good working knowledge of the design work required is essential and you will need to work closely with instrumentation and control engineers in the company to develop Functional Design Specifications and User Requirements.
You will be required to carry out process engineering design in support of projects to cover: HAC, Pressure Relief, LOPA, HAZOP/HAZID, SIL, FMEA, and PED. The Process Engineer will be responsible for consulting with the company's clients to correctly interpret their process requirements and make proposals which fit these. You will need first class project management skills, team management skills ability to produce Gantt charts and to schedule activity, time and resources.
Key Requirements for the Process Engineer role are:
- Strong background in Process Engineering within the Chemical Process industry
- A first degree in chemical engineering or related subject
- Demonstrable experience of understanding client's needs and delivering projects
- Ability to cover process engineering design including HAZOP/HAZID, HAC, Pressure Relief, LOPA, SIL, FMEA and PED
