Electrical Design Engineer
Salary: GBP33-35k on experience
Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
Our client is a leading projects consultancy who are currently going through a period of growth, they work within the process industry and heavily within the pharmaceutical, chemical and food sectors. Due to current business levels, they are looking to recruit an ECI Engineer to work from their head office in Huddersfield.
Working closely with the client's requirements you will carry out and understand hazardous area design, you should have experience of ATEX, DSEAR and SIL. The EC&I Engineer will work closely with other internal teams to develop user requirement and functional design specification. The majority of the work is based in the UK, with some overseas projects, and some travel is required to visit client sites and offices.
The role requires someone with strong project management skills and the ability to manage a team, work with Gantt Charts, and schedule/coordinate activity. You should have previous experience of Electrical Equipment commissioning, Troubleshooting of existing and new equipment and preparing ECI Design Diagrams. Ideally you will be degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline and be working towards or possess membership of a recognised controlling body with the sector.
Experience of preparing ECI Design Diagrams is essential and you should be able to manipulate simple CAD Draughting systems. A strong use of Inventor is preferred.
Key Requirements for the ECI Engineer role are:
- Educated to degree level in ECI, with a minimum of ONC, HND or HNC level in a related subject acceptable
- Previous experience of ATEX, DSEAR, SIL, IEC61508, IEC61511 and BS EN60079
- COMPEX / Inspection Schedules and Low Voltage switchgear, Motor Control Centres
- HV Switchgear knowledge
- PLC and Instrumentation circuits
- Control panel design & Development
- ECI equipment specifications for safe and hazardous area applications
- Demonstrable experience of understanding a client's need to develop quotations and projects
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel as required - role is mainly office based but some project related travel is required.
This is an excellent role with a market leading project consultancy who are financially strong, the role offers an excellent chance for progression. The role comes with a salary of circa GBP35k with movement for exceptional candidates.
