Security/Projects/QS/Quantity Surveyor

eSift are currently looking for a commercially astute individual with extensive experience in a Quantity Surveying role to join our client, the leading global integrated security company, specialising in the provision of security products, services and solutions.

Location: Worksop, (S81)

Salary: Circa GBP45k per annum plus company car and other benefits

Within this role, you will be solely responsible for managing the commercial and financial aspects of projects, ranging in value from GBP50-500k.

You will provide commercial support to the projects function of a government contract, driving and supporting account embedded project teams ensuring the provision of the cost-effective resource models through the management of the account teams and external consultants.

Accountable to the Business Unit Commercial Manager/Project Commercial Manager for commercial and contractual aspects of a Project, you will lead a Commercial Function within the project consistent with Business standards and objectives. You will also be required to provide Operations with commercial and contractual advice, determining risks, maximising opportunities.

Whilst not a budget holder this role is responsible for controlling and monitoring the spend of projects and then reporting this on a regular basis. You will also control the financial spend of project work by assessing the requirements of the role and then organising all stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of the project on time and on budget.

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

- Extensive previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Degree level qualified - a degree in Quantity Surveying would be desirable but not essential
- Proactive and able to work without the need for instruction
- Able to work independently and be self-disciplined.
- High standards of numeracy, oral and written communication skills
- Commercial and contractual awareness with a proven track record of success
- A good level of competency of Microsoft packages
- Self-motivation, passion and a driven 'can do' attitude
- Be able to organise yourself and others workload
- Be proactive in your approach
- An excellent communicator
- A high level of diplomacy and customer focused
- The ability to anticipate problems and ensure early intervention
- Previous experience of working within the FM industry would be desirable but not essential
