Step One are partners in delivering Cornwall's Work Routes; a free and voluntary service to support unemployed people find and sustain employment. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced employment consultants to join our dynamic, busy and friendly Work Routes team.
Job title: Employment Consultant (Work Routes)
Location: Travel around North Cornwall with office base in Bodmin
Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week
Salary: GBP22,100 - GBP25,415 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
Build and manage a caseload of programme 'members' (jobseekers)
Provide regular 1:1 and group support, advice and guidance to support members to find and retain employment (including assistance to complete application forms, interview preparation, job searching, identifying goals, identifying skills need, confidence building, etc)
Provide regular telephone support and face to face meetings with members
Build and maintain effective working relationships with programme members, team members, partners, employers and local referral agencies
Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the local labour market, current benefits systems and entitlements, programme provision of relevant agencies and opportunities pertaining to employment
Develop and sustain partnerships with local employers and training providers
Source suitable work trial placements for members through successful engagement with local employers
Assist members into employment (providing ongoing in-work support to the member and their employer)
