£18,000 to £22,000 (or part-time equivalent) - dependent on experience and qualifications, plus study support where applicable

Our client is a successful regional firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Development Specialists. They have an established reputation for providing an excellent, client-focused and proactive service. Whilst they provide traditional accountancy, payroll and tax advisory services, they stand apart from their counterparts because of the bespoke attention they give to their clients to help them succeed and thrive.

There is an opportunity now for someone who shares these values to join this growing business as an Accounts Assistant. While this is a permanent, full time role, part time applicants who can demonstrate the required skills and experience may also be considered.

The role can be adjusted for a junior or semi-senior who is either just (or nearly) AAT qualified or part way through their ACCA exams. Study support will be provided if required. Otherwise, the position is also open to recently qualified ACCA students or anyone who is essentially “qualified” through relevant experience.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant

This is a varied role and primarily you will be responsible for your own bank of clients with responsibility for providing a first-class service. Duties will be to:

• Prepare draft accounts and tax computations
• Prepare VAT returns and corporation tax returns for review
• Respond to client queries
• Prepare management accounts and cash flow forecasts
• Prepare and update billing forecasts and monthly reports
• Attend stock takes
• Complete and adhere to job planning and budgets, achieving billing targets
• Ensure final accounts are submitted to clients on time
• Assist with company audits
• Identify additional services that the clients may need
• Assist in the preparation of information and explanations required for tax enquiries
