THE WINDSOR BOYS' SCHOOL
SENCO
Scale 6, Point 26: GBP25,153 pa FTE (Actual Salary: GBP21,274 pa) 37 hours per week, term time only
Required for September 2017, a well-qualified and enthusiastic person to lead the SENCO Department. We have an exciting opportunity for a SENCO to join our school and make a huge contribution to transforming the learning and lives of our students. This pivotal role will include leading, developing and supporting effective practice for students with SEND. The SENCO will lead a team of dedicated staff in establishing and implementing a range of support and interventions for our SEND students across the school to ensure each learner achieves his full potential.
The successful candidate will have experience of SEN related responsibilities, policy and practice. You will also be passionate about inclusion, a champion for all students with SEND and an advocate for some of our most vulnerable students. You should be confident with using data to evaluate the impact of support and interventions. Whether you are at the start of your SENCO career or have a wealth of experience, we are interested in talking with you about how you will help us to foster outstanding inclusive provision and life-changing outcomes for our students. This post would suit a person who may not have QTS or a full teaching qualification, but who has the experience and capability to fulfil the role.
The Windsor Boys' School teaches students from years 9-13 and has excellent value added at GCSE and A level, being in the top 30% of schools nationally for pupil progress. It has a national reputation for sport, music and the creative arts, and uniquely is a centre of excellence for rowing. We have a highly supportive and friendly working environment, with exceptional CPD through the trust's teaching school alliance and our family of schools. There are many opportunities to become involved in a huge range of curriculum enrichments, including trips abroad.

From September 2017 we are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Home-School Community Outreach worker to engage and provide support in schools to families of vulnerable children who may have poor attendance, be excluded, or displaying antisocial behaviour both within and outside school.
You will be required to work collaboratively with other service providers to improve our students' well-being and attainment. The role also includes providing support for parents/carers and pupils in times of stress and engaging parents in supporting their children's education. You will have the ability to use your initiative to engage families in support services, be able to work independently and also as part of a team within the WLP's scheme of policies and procedures. With excellent communication skills, you will have a proven capability to work preventatively and holistically with families who may be at risk, to identify their support needs, and to plan, implement and monitor emotional and practical support for them.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with families from wide-ranging backgrounds and cultures within the home environment and school settings, and may be someone with a youth work, social work or police background.
