Calibration Engineer/Performance Engineer - Diesel Engines

My well-known, leading provider within the industrial automotive industry is looking for a Calibration/
Performance Engineer to work specifically on the enhancement of existing diesel engines as well as developing new ones. My client provides high performance, engine calibration and development of complex engineering solutions for heavy duty, off-road vehicles. My client is providing an exciting opportunity that involves longevity and the chance to be a part of multiple key projects.

The Calibration/Performance Engineer will be responsible for the design of new diesel engines as well as the enhancement of the existing diesel engine components. They will be required to work specifically on the performance and emissions development of the diesel engines. The Calibration/Performance Engineer will need to have experience using design software such as Matlab, Simulink, GT-Power and AvlConcerto as well as the knowledge around pre-test planning, reviewing test data to ensure quality and post-test data analysis. You will be responsible for conducting engine system rating calibration development to meet customer performance expectations and all emission regulations, troubleshooting issues identified in productions test, verification and validation testing, field testing and customer raised concerns. The ability to communicate technical information effectively is a must.

Key skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience within engine performance and emissions development for diesel engines
  • Diesel engine design experience as well as enhancing existing diesel engines
  • Must have user knowledge of design software including Matlab, Simulink, GT-Power and AvlConcerto
  • Must have previous experience with conducting engine system rating calibration development and knowledge of all emission regulations
  • Must have knowledge of troubleshooting issues in productions tests, validation testing, field testing and customer raised concerns
  • The ability to communicate technical information effectively is a must
  • Good team skills, proactive nature and prioritisation is key
