Due to our continued growth we're looking for an In-House Solicitor with experience as a Contract and Compliance Specialist to be based in our Glasgow OR Edinburgh office.

Reporting to a Board Director you will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of complex commercial contracts, Intellectual Property, Commercial leases and Company Secretarial work. The key aspects of the role are to;

  • Deal with a range of legal matters in connection with the review, negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements including NDA s; Framework Service Agreements; IT & Software Licensing and Partnership Agreements.
  • Provide regular communication with key internal stakeholders and Client representatives ensuring that the contract management process is efficient and effective.
  • Monitor the signoff process of commercial documents and ensure final version is retained within the contracts repository.
  • Creating and reviewing agreement templates ensuring that they are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Managing and drafting licence agreements relating to IP.
  • Provide legal advice to Group companies.
  • Provide Data Protection advice and support to commercial projects within the business.
  • Assist the Finance Director with Company Secretarial duties.
  • Manage a risk register of inflight contractual obligations. Map out and advise on these obligations to the relevant internal Stakeholder.
  • Calendar inflight contract obligations to the relevant internal Stakeholder and hold quarterly reviews to ensure compliance.

We're looking for someone with;

  • Commercial experience working as a Solicitor/Contract and Compliance Specialist
  • Degree level qualification in Law (BSc/LLB etc)
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to articulate complex legal points in layman's terms.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Negotiation skills.
