Maintenance Engineer - Harlow
Excellent Salary dependant on experience.
My Client was founded in 1946 with the intention to produce diecast miniature toys from premises in London.
The company quickly moved from its original customer base into engineered components and the automotive sector. In 1974, after two major expansions, a new purpose built facility was commissioned and constructed in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire where the company remains based today.
The main responsibilities for this role - Maintenance Engineer ( Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Pneumatic / Hydraulic Systems, PLC`s, Electrical Fault Finding )
This role is site based in Hoddesdon.
To join a small Maintenance team responsible for the continuous running of all equipment and machinery within a High Pressure Diecasting and CNC machining facility.
Responsibilities and tasks will vary from day to day, but typically you will be involved in:
designing maintenance strategies, procedures and methods;
carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults;
diagnosing breakdown problems;
fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly;
carrying out quality inspections on jobs;
liaising with client departments and other engineering, production & Quality colleagues;
arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components;
controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment;
monitoring and controlling maintenance costs;
dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs;
improving health and safety policies and procedures;
working with specialist equipment, such as PLC`s,
writing maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines;
ensuring there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.
Skills required for this role - Maintenance Engineer ( Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Pneumatic / Hydraulic Systems, PLC`s, Electrical Fault Finding )
Good fault finding skills with ability to overcome challenges to keep machinery in operation to keep production flowingAbility to strip down and re-assemble machinery using technical problem - solving skills.
A comprehensive working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical engineering is essential, as is an in depth knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic systems, PLC`s and Electrical fault finding and repair. You will be involved in all aspects of installation, maintenance, repair and decommissioning of the breadth of mechanical, electrical, robotic and CNC plant utilised within the operation.
Candidates must be time served with a BTEC or City & Guilds qualification or above in:
Electrical and electronic engineering;
Manufacturing engineering;
Mechanical engineering;
Production engineering.
