A leading aerospace company based in Portsmouth are looking for an experienced CNC Engineering Estimator for a permanent role.
You will be working under the direct supervision of the Technical Account Manager, the successful candidate will
be responsible for estimating, pricing and preparing quotations in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the below
Self-starter and a team player with drive who will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.

Practical knowledge of precision machining and tool making, being a time served machinist with
an additional minimum of 5 years machining experience: a bias toward CNC turning would be
advantageous.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings to develop manufacturing routings, liaise with suppliers
for materials and any subcontract costs and to estimate labour time costs for components
involving manual and CNC milling and turning.

An enquiring mind and interest in developing a supporting role in reverse engineering of
components and drafting manufacturing engineering drawings. Working with the customer account manager or customer to understand the fit, form and function of component applications
To reverse engineer and draft manufacturing engineering drawings. Prior knowledge of this
process would be advantageous but not essential as on the job training will be provided.

Ideally have an estimating / job costing background with experience in ERP/MRP computer
systems but we will consider skilled CNC Machinists with a good machining methodology
background who have the desire to move into a customer facing estimator role.

Personable with good people skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with
work colleagues, suppliers and customers.
Analytical thinking with problem solving skills.

Ability to manage and prioritise workload in a changing environment.

Have a KPI focus.

A good understanding and proven experience of standard Microsoft applications such as Outlook
and Word.
