I am currently searching for a CAD technician to join a large design consultancy to work on the Great Western Modernisation project. The project involves linking important towns and cities from London to Oxford, Bristol and Exeter.

The line extends from London to South-West and Wales, covering Oxford, Cotsworld, Birmingham, South Coast, London Suburbs, Devon and the Cornish coast. The modernisation involves the introduction of new high speed electric trains.

As the CAD designer, you will develop the CAD data for the western region for Network Rail.

Role:

-Operate and maintain 2D and 3D mater federated models
-Undertake the validation, verification and quality assurance exercises for CAD models
-Support the set up and delivery of design reviews
-Do the 3D modelling for level crossings, track, buried services, etc
-Evaluate and resolve problems by reviewing multiple sources of information and drawing conclusions

Skills Required:

-Experience working in rail sector (Highways would be acceptable)
-Solid knowledge of 2D (Some 3D) CAD tools- AECOsim, microstation
-Experience with ProjectWise environment
-Familiarity with NWR CAD standards
