District Youth and Community Commissioner (Professionally Qualified Youth Worker)
West Essex (based in Harlow)
Annual Salary: JNC pay points 17-20 (from GBP26,662 to GBP28,852)
Permanent, full time contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to work with young people and their communities. The post holder will support the imaginative development of activities and initiatives for young people ensuring it develops their skills and understanding of others and the world around them. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and partners, enabling communities to develop and lead their own youth provisions. In addition there will be opportunities to lead and develop new and targeted youth projects.

You will also be responsible for commissioning within the district, to ensure the best possible outcomes and secure the best possible provision within available resources.

The post-holder will develop new approaches, based on sound evidence and creative thinking, with a strong focus on improving outcomes; they will be both proactive and responsive, combining energy and enthusiasm with the tenacity and drive to see things through.

The post holder should be qualified at degree level in a JNC recognised Youth Work Qualification.
