I am recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on electrical utility projects for my client based in Lincolnshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring Quantity Surveyor that is wanting to grow within the industry and wants to join an ambitious company with great opportunities for career advancement.
My client are a multi-million pound turnover business and is an expert at delivering utility services nationwide.
Duties Include;
- Liaise with works supervisors and agents to assess progress each week, and ensure that data is correctly recorded.
- Attending progress/planning meetings, identify and report areas of concern.
- Works reconciliation, audit of required works from commencement to completion to assess recording and costing processes.
- Prepare applications for payment of Work Instructions.
- Responsible for overall budget analysis per project / works instruction.
- Liaise with Lead QS with regards to cost collection and allocation activities.
- Provide expenditure analysis by project / works order analysing overspend and review with operational team.
- Liaise with Works Supervisors, Delivery Managers and Lead QS for each area to produce contract value (total value of work done to date which is billable).
- Liaise with Lead QS and operational managers to ensure systems are updated with necessary data to enable required reports to be produced.
- Manage, identify and capture risk, liaising with Lead QS as necessary.
- Collate and process Timesheets/Tracksheets.
- Apply instructed filing procedures both electronically and physically.
- Administer variation register and assist in its transition to ISIS.
- Subcontract valuations/payments including resolution of disputes.
- Chase/resolve invoice payments, including managing and reviewing any blockers to completion to ensure WIP targets are met.
- To perform any other task commensurate with the role.
Candidates Must;
- Have experience within the Electrical Utility environment.
- Have working knowledge of the utility sector, including new connections, asset replacement and fault work.
- Have either a full or part Quantity Surveying qualification.
