Maintenance Manager
Triumph Works, Merthyr Tydfil, CF48 1YH

Main purpose of post:
To manage and coordinate the maintenance and repair programme of all plant and equipment. Plus the day to day management and development of maintenance staff.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

- Effective team management in line with Pemac system.
- Manage and coordinate the maintenance and repair of all plant equipment.
- General housekeeping of the maintenance department and office.
- Arrange and conduct monthly meetings with managers.
- Monitor and measure team to KPI's as set out by the business.
- Oversee KPI's, legislative changes i.e. electricity regs, plumbing regs etc
- Issue PPM schedules and enter completed worksheet data into Pemac system
- Control and prioritise breakdown workload to maximise production machine availability.
- Arrange repair/servicing of plant and equipment with external contractors.
- Purchase components/spares for up keep and repair of plant.
- Ensure company vehicles are roadworthy and have MOT's/Tax.
- Keep detailed breakdown of spends in a budget spreadsheet.
- Arrange tool repairs with external contractors.
- Conduct return to work with team as necessary
- Be responsive to business needs.
- Sign off authorisation job cards/worksheets.
- Ensuring best value and competitive pricing, liaising with specialists within the business.

- Comfortable working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to effectively manage, motivate and lead a team.
- Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
- Initiative and enthusiasm.
- Excellent communication and 'people skills'.
- Good Planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to calmly work under pressure.
- Good IT skills.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Ability to explain/understand details of machine failure and discuss with manufacturers.
- Ability to prioritise machine breakdowns (Commercial acumen).
- Proactive rather than reactive in approach.

Qualifications:

- Time Served Mechanical/Electrical Engineer or a Facilities Management degree.

Desirable:

- ILM 5 Certificate in Leadership & Management
