About Eversheds
Sutherland:
Recognised by The Lawyer magazine as part of the "Litigation Elite", Eversheds' team of experts acts for major clients throughout the world. Our people regularly deal with large-scale matters involving multiple jurisdictions for multi-nationals through our award winning and groundbreaking approach to project management. We are lawyers who think strategically as well as legally, and provide our dispute managers with the resources they need to use their skills to the fullest.

Our highly successful real estate litigation team advises on all property related disputes and portfolio management issues. Lawyers work on major cases for large organisations as well as everyday "business as usual" matters. In all cases they are supported by the resources of an international firm and an award winning project management system that allows them to deliver better results for clients.

The Birmingham team is led by 3 partners, is band 1 in Chambers and Legal 500 and has been for many years.

Key responsibilities:

Primarily working on the litigation aspects of lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, which will include drafting notices, claim forms and witness statements; liaising with the oppositions' legal representatives, the court and our clients, day to day contact with surveyors, conducting case management conferences, and general correspondence.

The role will involve working within a team of 3 paralegals, reporting to several supervisors. In addition, the paralegal may well be asked to assist with other cases types, undertake research and manage critical dates and court timetables.

Skills and experience:
The ideal candidate will be a graduate with an LPC, or ILEX with at least 1-2 years' work experience in a legal environment. Property or Litigation experience would be an advantage, however, we are happy to hear from those who feel their skill-set meets our requirements.

Key competencies:

The successful candidate will have a positive outlook, be confident and adaptable and be used to working as part of a team. They will require excellent IT, administration and organisational skills, together with excellent written communication skills.

We're a modern, progressive law firm. We think differently and we've built a culture where individual skills and personalities can shine through.
