Reed Engineering and Manufacturing are currently recruiting for a FACILITIES MANAGER in the Sheffield area

Job Role:
A Facilities Manager will be responsible for delivering facilities management within a Facilities Management team:
- deliver a cost effective, customer focused facilities management service that supports the effective use, maintenance and development of the council's property portfolio and enhances the customer experience
- contribute to the development of facilities management best practice
- deputise for Senior Managers as required
- contribute to the development of strategies, policies and guidance in consultation with Transport and Facilities Management and corporate colleagues
- manage all resources (financial, human and material) effectively
- support the delivery of the council's vision, aims and objectives and effective and efficient management of resources

Key accountabilities

To deliver facilities management for a defined area of the service within a Facilities Management team, including:

- Operational decision support
- Support to Service Planning and Control
- Support to Financial Planning and Control
- Risk management
- Health and Safety compliance
- Facilities Management legislation compliance
- Resource and Performance management
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the Service

Skills/Knowledge

- Able to think logically and demonstrate the ability to manage staff, information, budgets and resources in a proactive way.
- Understanding and appreciation of equal opportunities and social and cultural diversity
- Knowledge of legislation and regulatory frameworks applicable to asset management
- Ability to demonstrate a track record of performance and quality assurance management
- Knowledge of health and safety and risk management in relation to property.
- Knowledge of the different types of Contract associated with Property Management, and the roles and responsibilities of individuals associated with the contract. Specific knowledge on "Partnership contracts" and the "Intelligent Client" model would be advantageous
- A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites including Word, Excel & Outlook, and the use of property data management systems

Experience/Qualifications

- Educated to HNC/Btech level, having a relevant professional or technical qualification or evidence of professional competency gained from work-based experience in a minimum of two of the following:

- Facilities management
- Building maintenance, construction or development
- Asset management
- Health and Safety

- Experience of delivering high quality environments
- Experience of delivering against agreed outcomes and impacts
- Track record of effective stakeholder engagement
- Experience of project management, preferably in a premises or construction related environment
- Experience of managing contracts and contractors, ideally delivering either construction or facility management services
- Experience of risk assessment and mitigation

Pre AWR pay rate is GBP16.38/ph PAYE or GBP20.32/ph LTD

Fixed term contract for a minimum of a year
