We are looking to recruit a Data Analyst to work as part of a production and supply chain function of a FTSE100 engineering and support services organisation based in Bristol.

The organisation is the UKs leading provider of support services to the MoD and the Armed Forces and has been awarded a contract to become the Marine Systems Support Partner (MSSP) for the Royal Navy's new Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) Aircraft Carriers and Type 45 Destroyers.

The Data Analyst is a critical role within the function that will develop reporting tools and techniques in order to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the contract.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Continue to develop the functions reporting tools and techniques, to further improve our ability to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the business function
- Lead the development of a suite of reporting dashboards that drive efficiency improvements in the way we interface with Risk and Inventory Optimisation Modelling tools.
- Develop a suite of tools to enable the business to report on the new Asset Management module of IFS.
- Work with stakeholders to capture new requirements in an organised way
- Provide appropriate training and refresher sessions to all users, utilising appropriate training documentation and supported by detailed work instructions.
- Complete development in accordance to Business Solutions governance guidelines and ensure all changes to BI dashboard toolsets are implemented

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Experience or relevant qualification(s) in Report development using SQL
- Knowledge / experience of Business Intelligence tools such as SSRS, Qlikview, Powerpivot
- Advanced Excel skills are an advantage but not essential
- Highly developed people and communication skills with the ability to capture requirements and train users of the toolset
- Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills, with a logical and methodical approach to development
- Agile knowledge using Team Foundation Server is advantageous
- Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.
