We are actively recruiting for a Pension Governance Manager to be based in Dorking. Within this role you will be required to plan and coordinate Aviva activity to ensure the Boards have the required support to achieve their objectives.

Governance remit includes a variety of Governance Committees Boards Internal and External which perform trustee duties for Workplace Benefits and Heritage Pension/Savings products. These would include but not solely: Independent Governance Committee/Master Trust Trustees Board etc. (This does not include external trustees of specific employer pension schemes).

Role Dimensions:
*Ensure the importance of the IGC and MT Boards is embedded into Aviva UK Life
*Ensure the relevant research and external audit requirements are delivered to support Aviva and the Boards duties.
*Represent Aviva at externally hosted forums which focus on the IGC's and other relevant Governance Boards activities.
*Ensure the right level of information is provided externally on Aviva Governance activity including for advisors/employers/trustees/regulators or media.
*Drive any externally driven projects to meet the Governance Roles.
*Build and maintain relationships with all committee/Board members.
*Build and maintain relationship with key internal stakeholder to deliver requirements for the Boards and Aviva.
*Develop and maintain a suite of material for external use which demonstrates Aviva's commitment to delivering VfM and good governance.
*Lead and delivery any reporting to regulators eg IGC Annual Report.
*Manage a small team delivering the Governance requirements.

Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
*Strong understanding of the current UK workplace pensions market, covering trust-based and contract-based pensions.
*An excellent understanding of the working of external and internal Governance Committees their purpose, drivers and requirements.
*Strong understanding of the key drivers behind the development of the IGC including the OFT investigation and subsequent Independent Project Board work.
*Good knowledge of older workplace pensions, including their products features and charges.
*Experience of working with / managing external committees.
*Strong understanding of investment options within Workplace Benefits.
*Evidence of achieving results in a similar environment.
