Data Science Engineer - Remote Working Opportunity

Data Science Engineer - Home Based £30-45k 

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a superb software house working on a remote basis.

Work closely with data scientists and Product team members to understand which data is required to be available

Maintain and improve data warehouse infrastructure

Develop ETL processes

Develop applications/scripts to produce new data sets from different sources (S3, relational databases, data warehouse)

Designing data capture and propose changes in process / data capture in existing systems

Implement/assist data scientist in developing and deploying production workflows for taking data in real-time or periodically from sites / business functions, passing the data through the developed models and producing the relevant reporting without human intervention

Work with and support data scientists and product researchers on getting required data

Develop simple front ends for facilitating data visualisation

Experience require

3+ years experience in data engineering

Experience with cloud computing

Wide range of experience in software development

Knowledge of machine learning/data analysis

Programming Skills

Good knowledge of Scala and/orJava

Advanced knowledge of software patterns and best practices

Good knowledge of data structures and algorithms

Data Processing Skills

Able to process data using distributed data-processing frameworks

including knowledge of main big data frameworks/infrastructure (e.g: Spark, Hadoop FS, YARN,MapReduce, etc)

Good knowledge of AWS services with emphasis in: S3, EMR,RedShift, Kinesis, DynamoDB

Good knowledge of best practices for ETL processes

Database Skills

Advanced knowledge in designing analytical databases

Good knowledge maintaining and improving data warehouses

Advanced knowledge of SQL
