The Company
Our client is well-known throughout the world as a specialist designer and manufacturer of bespoke special purpose machinery. They are an award winning business that has grown year on year for the last 3 years.
The Role:
This is a completely new role due to continued growth. The organisation is looking for a passionate engineer with a keen interest in electrical design and project engineering. The right person will have experience in electrical design with an understanding of control systems engineering, along with a natural problem-solving ability. This is NOT a role where you will be sat constantly at your desk, you will be getting involved in all areas of the project, working toward managing your own projects.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Doing the electrical design (they use Eplan) and supporting the controls engineers programming the PLCs (will offer training on this if needed).
- Development of appropriate electrical test strategies for both in-house and field service.
- Production of electrical build and test documents in-line with engineering standards.
- Working with Panel builders to streamline procurement, manufacture and delivery of control panels
- Working within R&D project teams to create new designs for Controls systems.
- Opportunity to visit customers across the UK and Europe on occasion.
- Operating at all time in accordance with ISO9001
Background Required:
- Experience working in an electrical design role
- Time served Electrical Engineer or Graduate
- Experience working with EPLAN software.
- Knowledge of machine control systems and safety to EN 13849.
- Knowledge of Siemens PLC hardware.
- Able to follow P&ID diagrams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both customer and colleagues).
