New opportunity not to be missed! Lancaster City Council has a unique opportunity available for a Building Cleaning Supervisor to join the team at White Lund Depot. The role is a full time, permanent position offering a salary of £22,658 - £27,668 per annum (may be subject to change)
Lancaster City Council is looking to recruit a Building Cleaning Supervisor to manage the cleaning service at its municipal buildings, markets, and sheltered housing schemes. Supervision and leadership skills are essential as is a commitment to improvement and practical reorganisation of the service.
You will be responsible for the leadership and management of Lead Cleaners and guiding Cleaners to maintain a high standard of cleaning, as well as reviewing schedules, overall performance and efficiency across the service. You should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills, initiative and creative flare.
Further duties of the Building Cleaning Supervisor will include managing stock levels and purchase of consumables by defined processes. As well as inductions for new staff you will ensure that a personal development programme is applied to each operative and is regularly monitored.
Previous experience of health and safety risk assessments is essential. You will be required to work within prescribed policies and procedures, investigate and maintain a working knowledge of developments in cleaning equipment and materials and to identify means by which the cleaning operation might be developed.
As well as supervising the team your day-to-day duties will include completion of administrative work associated with the role.
You must be able to prioritise and have the ability to communicate effectively. You will also be required to perform practical cleaning tasks.
You will be expected to have a current full UK driving licence, as the Building Cleaning Supervisor will be responsible for a large number of staff who are dispersed across the district. They will need to manage and monitor these people on a regular basis and the majority of these hours are outside normal working times (6am and 8pm) when public transport may not be available or limited. The post holder will also be expected to deliver/collect equipment/building materials to some sites.
The hours of work for this position are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the hours of work for this post will have to meet the flexibility required to perform all tasks effectively. Over time is not payable.
