THE COMPANY:
Calibrate Engineering Recruitment (part of the Brewster Pratap Recruitment Group) are currently working with a well established Rotherham based engineering business who supply to industries including Oil and Gas, Nuclear and Aerospace as they look to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer.
THE JOB:
Reporting to the Manager Director, the Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for the Electrical Scope of a project whilst working within a multi-discipline project team.
The work will be a mixture of Turnkey projects and upgrades whether it be process or regulatory compliance driven.
The Electrical Project Engineer role is an integral role within the project team which requires a logical thinker who is self-motivating and can see the project as a whole - not just the electrical scope.
The specific duties of the role will include:
- Having valued input into quotations, ensuring customer specification is met.
- Design of electrical control systems using AutoCAD Electrical to meet customer specification.
- Programming of all control functions of the control system
- Programming and creation of HMI Screens
- Create BOM for procurement department
- Specification & selection of components to be used in control system
- Commissioning of machine in conjunction with Commissioning Engineers once installation team have completed build
- Production of technical documentation for O&M Manuals and operator training
- Liaise with Projects Manager for resource scheduling & project updates
THE PERSON:
The business are looking for someone who will be with them for the long term and ideally with the following skills/experience:
- Must be self-motivating and able to demonstrate an ability to work off own initiative
- Must have a practical knowledge of PLC/HMI programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Step7)
- Must have a practical knowledge of designing control systems & panels (AutoCAD Electrical)
- Knowledge of site installation practices would be advantageous
- Knowledge of VSD, Analog control, pneumatic and hydraulic systems would be advantageous
- Good working knowledge of practical working aspects of electrical functions
- Strong problem solving skills
