Melbreck Technical is currently working with a leading designer and manufacturer of special purpose machinery based in Northamptonshire.
This is a highly successful business who are at the forefront of technology in their sector. They had a fantastic 12 months in regards to grow of market share and turnover and due to this they are looking to expand their technical team and they are looking to hire a well-rounded Mechanical Design Engineer/Project Engineer.
Your role will be to develop a range of products which can be sold stand alone, which can be manufactured within the existing facilities of our client. The source of these products could be:
• Reverse engineering
• Product specification from market re- search and in house technology available
Job requirements:
1. To produce 2 D and 3 D design layouts from specifications for live projects.
2. Produce detail manufacturing drawings from 3D models.
3. To undertake equipment and system design work, producing finished drawings, Bills of Material, documents to support Manufacture, operating manuals, Health and Safety and other documentation for assigned projects and products.
4. Support Project Managers/ Project Engineers or act as a Project Engineer as necessary in the execution of live projects.
5. Support the Project Managers / Project Engineers or act as a Project Engineer on site investigations into problems with equipment / material handling.
Essential skills:
• HND or equivalent, Engineering degree is desirable
• Background of working on significant size, integrated design, supply and install / commission type projects.
• Experienced in conveyor technology and or the waste recycling or allied industry would be desirable
• Competent in 3D design Competent in AutoCad
• Must be a driver
• An individual capable of working on own initiative. Someone who as ambition & wants to make the role there own. Good team player who communicates and presents well.
A flexible individual who has good attention to detail.
