My Halifax based client asa result of continuing expansion we are seeking an Electronics Hardware Engineer to join a growing, multi-disciplinary development team working on innovative new products. This is an opportunity for a creative individual to contribute to, and influence, the core products of a small company working at the forefront of its field.
About you A relevant degree and/or experience in the following is essential:- - Embedded Microprocessor designs, PIC, ARM - C applications to test/hardware proving level as a minimum - Knowledge of low level hardware interfacing SPI US, UART, RS232 RS485 - VOIP, TCP, UDP, DHCP and HTTP - Working with various sensing devices - Surface mount design to down to 0402 or smaller - attery powered products - Schematic preparation - Multilayer PC layout - EMC compliant design practices and testing to EMC standards
A working knowledge of the following would also be beneficial:- - RF design techniues, test and implementation - A/D and D/A including signal filtering - Analogue and digital design using ICs, Opamps - Analogue and digital design to discrete component level - Project applications and device drivers in C/C++ in an embedded environment - Real real-time embedded debug tools - Preparation of detailed project specifications from basic concept - Design evaluation engineering and performance assessment skills - Contributing to and working with defined Software creation methodologies - DSP (FIR/IIR filters, FFT)
Ideally you will have a strong aptitude and desire to learn new technologies. You will be an innovative problem solver with an ability to develop robust and effective solutions. This role would suit a strong team player with an open communication style who enjoys a collaborative working environment.
