My Halifax based client has been designing and manufacturing electronic products for the care industry for 20 years. Due to expansion we are looking to recruit an Electronics Hardware Engineer. This is an opportunity to join a growing multi-disciplinary team and use your innovative design skills to contribute to the development of products from concept to production.
Essential skills required for the role:
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent - Working knowledge of VOIP, TCP, UDP, DHCP and HTTP - Embedded microprocessor designs (PIC, ARM) - C applications to test/hardware proving level - Knowledge of low level hardware interfacing : SPI USB, UART, RS485 - Design for EMC - Knowledge of some of the following would be advantageous: - Battery powered products - CAD based schematic preparation - CAD based multilayer PCB layout - A/D and D/A including signal filtering - Analogue and digital design (ICs, Op-amps, logic) - Project applications and device drivers in C/C++ in an embedded environment - RTOS - Design evaluation engineering and performance assessment skills - DSP (FIR/IIR filters, FFT), HTML, Java, Android, Source code control systems - Experience working with GSM/Bluetooth modules About you
You will be an electronic hardware designer fully versed in designing microprocessor/analogue circuitry and low voltage power supplies, with a good knowledge of microcontroller based systems, analogue electronics and embedded software. You will possess hands on electronic technician experience, specifying prototypes and writing documentation. You will have a flair for innovation and a strong desire to learn new technologies. Experienced in design for manufacture, you will be a creative problem solver capable of developing robust solutions. What we offer Compressed working hours (37.5hrs over 4 days, Mon to Thu), salary commensurate with skills, flexible 187.5hrs holiday, pension, central location with free parking
