Exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced Procurement Manager from an automotive background to join a rapidly growing company based in the Oxfordshire area. Our client are a brand which works across numerous industries but have recently established a manufacturing site in the UK focusing on the automotive market

As part of our continuing growth plan, we require a high calibre Procurement Manager. The role is required to provide a robust manufacturing supply base at the lowest cost possible to meet sales and development activities.
You will be responsible for identifying short and long term opportunities to develop suppliers, through resourcing or building on relationships already in place. A technical background and ability to learn quickly are critical to understanding the needs of the business.
You will be in control of the full process from supplier identification and auditing, contract negotiations, quotations and scheduling, through to metrics and quality performance measurement.
The ideal candidate must be capable of working under their own initiative, identifying issues, and working to resolve without supervision. You must be comfortable owning and setting up processes and systems, adapting them to the needs of the company through growth.
Key responsibilities of the Procurement Manager:
Management of suppliers
Full contract negotiation
Sourcing reviews and bid process for automotive supply chain
Identify cost down activities and supplier resourcing plans in line with production growth
Development of internal processes to support the needs of the business, eg Kaizen, Lean, etc
Manage financial BOM and cost tracking
Liaise with engineering to develop volume cost estimates for new products

Experience/Qualifications required of the Procurement Manager:
Experience managing a full supply chain or purchasing function
Track record of successful supplier negotiation and contract agreement with automotive suppliers
Demonstrated strategic sourcing initiatives and worked through to secure production supply
Demonstrated lead in logistics, consignment stock and scheduling for volume supply
Experience with a range of stock management processes and software packages
Experience of Automotive supply chain management, risk identification and action planning
Ability to quickly assimilate technical proposals and issues as required for the role
Ideally degree level qualified plus CIPS Diploma or equivalent
Flexible in your approach to work, desire to thrive in a dynamic and fast moving environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present to Director level
