Role purpose
As a skilled automotive technician you will encounter a wide range of vehicle-related breakdowns and you will be motivated by ensuring we continue to fix at least 4 out of 5 cars at the roadside - Your mechanical and diagnostic skills will be the key factor to ensuring we keep motorists moving.
No two days will be the same; with a variety of different faults to fix and meeting a wide diversity of people (even celebrities, as they breakdown too).
You will be the face of RAC and you will be the one who can not only fix the breakdown, but also bring a sense of relief and calmness to what can be a stressful situation.
This role is not like working in a garage, completing job card after job card without seeing the satisfaction of the customer you have just helped - you will be out there at the roadside, providing first class customer service and seeing the relief and gratitude on people`s faces when you fix the breakdown - also do not be surprised if the public want to take your photo and thank you across social media. You will become a true ambassador of the RAC.

Skills, Knowledge and qualifications
So what are we looking for in you?
- proven car and light commercial vehicle mechanic experience
- passion for providing great service, putting customers first and going above and beyond for our members
- Full driving licence
- Qualifications including a Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification from IMI, NVQ or City & Guilds
- Flexibility - your shifts will include evenings and early mornings, weekends and Bank Holidays and there is the opportunity to do overtime
