Part of a small team providing Technician support to the Science Curriculum in the Sixth Form you will assist all curriculum centre staff in the provision of a safe, well resourced, outstanding learning and working environment in Science. This will include provision of direct support for teaching staff engaged in laboratory and classroom activities. To organise experiments, equipment & facilities for the science curriculum. You will also directly facilitate students learning through assistance with practical classes, demonstration and student support ion project work as required.
Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above (or equivalent) in Chemistry you will ideally hold a City & Guilds Science Laboratory Technician's Certificate 7350. Experience in all areas of science technician activity plus specialist knowledge of Chemistry and experience of working as a school or college technician would be an advantage although training will be given to the right candidate. As a minimum you must be able to demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision
and meet deadlines. You must also be equally comfortable working as part of a close team.
