THEATRE AND PRESENTATION TECHNICIAN

Required for September 2017

Salary Range 18-19

Salary £17,891-£18,560

Macmillan Academy is an 11-18 school in Middlesbrough with over 1500 students, including 375 in Post 16.  The studio is critical to the curricular and extra curricular work of the academy and following promotion there is an opportunity to appoint a new member of staff to complement the existing studio team.

We are seeking an individual with creative flair and technical expertise who is willing to become fully involved in the delivery of both academy and after school commercial activity relating to our performance, presentation and media studio.  This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate from a production arts/lighting and sound for stage/live events degree course or an experienced theatre technician.

Macmillan Academy has a long tradition of excellence in the use of media and performance related technology and we are looking to build on this.  We have a thriving theatre and various multi-functional presentation and media spaces. All of which; are used daily to both support both the curriculum and various commercial activities outside standard curriculum hours.

The successful candidate will possess experience in technical theatre and audio technology alongside the ability to support and facilitate students, staff and commercial clients. He/she would also demonstrate initiative and self-motivation to further develop this area of our academy activity.

An expectation of flexibility is required with this post which will require both evening and weekend working to ensure commercial and academy commitments can be facilitated.
