This small media company who have recently expanded, is now looking to appoint someone in a position that might be titled financial controller if they were a bigger company.
You will be working with the directors to ensure that all financial functions of the business are carried out fully and correctly, from payroll to accounts receivable and payable, monthly reporting and preparing year end.
This really is a top to bottom role, where the successful applicant will (over time) be expected to review all existing processes and systems with a view to suggesting and implementing improved ways of working that take advantage of the many innovate software solutions available for finance and accounting these days. Therefore, the successful candidate will be an exceptionally familiar with the inner working s of Sage50 and Excel - they will be comfortable not just using but also configuring and setting up such software (with external help where necessary).
The position would ideally suit somebody who is recently qualified, (assistance to continue training for part qualified candidates could be considered) who has a strong commercial focus and is looking at a career path that would lead to a Finance Directorship, rather than going into practice.
Currently employing over twenty people in their bright and funky city centre offices, the company has plans for a significant digital expansion over the next few years. Along with a starting salary of GBP27k to GBP30k dependant on experience and 28 days holiday per year the company also have regular staff outings, early finish Fridays and vibrant and exciting working atmosphere.
