Development Consultant Scientist (Life Sciences) - 1st / 2.1, PhD, Gen

Biomedical research is at the forefront of science with the advent of commercial gene therapies and consumer products for molecular medicine. Central to the latest advances is a multi-disciplinary approach whereby biochemistry meets experimental physics and is coupled with engineering and data science. Our client is quietly building a world-class team to commercialise current scientific initiatives and translating these into practical, applied solutions. They are currently looking to expand this team and are looking for a bright, highly capable scientific technologist to take a leading role on their projects - providing technical understanding as well as a good appreciation of commercialisation. Qualifications and experience: • Top academic pedigree (1st / 2.1 bachelor's degree) including a PhD in biochemistry or bioengineering. • Research background with subsequent applied experience in life science tools / applications development. Project / work experience: • Understanding of industrial science applications including IP and commercial trends. • Broad understanding through first-hand experience with advanced biomedical / molecular techniques including NGS, CRISPR, and microarray diagnostics. Exposure to stem cells, novel biomaterials or other systems biology technologies would be desirable. The role is not your usual lab scientist position, and as a Consultant Scientist, you'll need to be comfortable presenting your work to technical and business audiences.
