Spanish/French/German Customer Service Specialist (Fixed Term)

As a Customer service specialist youshould love to help people and solve problems. You need to be able toprioritise, multitask, think logically and communicate well. Attention to detailis very important as we really want to get it right for our customers the firsttime. Previous service centre experience isn't necessary but ideally you havecustomer service experience and understand the importance of giving everycustomer an excellent experience.

The Customer Services team at Abcam ismade up of a group of 25 customer experience specialists, focused on deliveringa world class service to our customers. The team work in a "virtual office" setup where, in addition to English, they communicate with our customers inlanguages such as German, French and Spanish and as such, they all possessexcellent communication skills. The team are now working with a new system thatis making it easier for us to process orders and communicate with ourcustomers.

• Handle customer enquiries by email and telephone
• Resolve customer queries, liaising with other departments when appropriate
• Deal with admin; place orders, provide quotations, process credit notes etc.
• Proactively contact customers with information about their order
• Ownership of customer data ensuring that information in our systems is accurate
• Support other team members when needed
• Recommend promotions and product alternatives to customers when appropriate
• Look for ways that you can continually improve how you do your job

We need people with experience indealing with a diverse range of customers, who are able to understand complexorder details and have attention to detail that is second to none.

We look for people who have gained thisexperience in other customer service roles - dealing with customers on thephone and by email - but we also consider applicants from sectors such asRetail, Gaming and Leisure & Tourism.

This role works within one of our language teams and as such, requires someone with fluent French, German or Spanish language skills - both verbaland written.

We also consider flexibleworking and would welcome applications from candidates who, forexample, are looking for hours such as afternoons only orbetween typical school hours.
