A unique and interesting opportunity has now arisen for an experienced PLC & SCADA Control Systems Design Engineer within a specialist provider to the Marine sector. With an ever expanding workload, we are seeking a skilled Control Engineer who has the ability to liaise with customers to put together the requirements for each project completing all PLC, SCADA & HMI software design, final testing/commissioning and compiling all documentation. Duties will include:? Development of PLC/SCADA/HMI system design and options from customer requirements? PLC programming of control systems from given designs? Involvement throughout whole software/systems lifecycle, from design through coding to testing, installation and configuration, and documentation (working throughout to full QA procedures) specifically production of FDS, DDS and Test Specifications? Configure parameters for Variable Speed Drives? Bid support, travel for technical input, customer liaison, input to sales proposals? Working within project team to customer deadlines? Installation and configuration/testing work at customer sites - please note this will involve small amounts of offshore travelWe are seeking an experienced Control Engineer with good customer facing skills and knowledge of the full project lifecycle. You will have an innovative software background, a passion for engineering excellence and significant experience to draw from.Any experience of Allen Bradley PLC ControlLogix system would be highly advantageous, however other mainstream PLC's such as Siemens S7, Mitsubishi or GE Fanuc are also considered. Instrumentation background would be highly preferred along with industry background of Marine or Oil & Gas. Salary is negotiable with experience, but you can expect cGBP30-38k with all overtime paid, allowances for working away/offshore, pension scheme and 25 days holiday + bank holidays. A pool car is provided for any required UK travel.
