The Health and Safety Advisor Role

Delivery of audit services and other support functions, including provision of technical advice and training as required by client. This is a field based position within close proximity of London.

As our Health and Safety Advisor you will be responsible for:

- To support the delivery of property compliance audits (health and safety and fire safety) within client premises

- To deliver additional audits/coaching/training services within client premises

- Ensure all work is undertaken to a high level of quality and consistency

- To undertake productivity targets as specified by the Client Manager

- To undertake work in the evening, weekend and unsociable hours as required

- To clearly communicate to the client, to ensure their ongoing enthusiasm and commitment to the program

- Establish and maintain effective communication with NSF administration teams and client management teams to ensure the efficient delivery of the program

- Effectively organise your own diary to ensure all specific client deadlines are met (accommodating last minute requests as necessary)

- Undertake ad hoc project work for client or NSF as required

- Deliver health & safety training courses as required

- Participate in clients meetings and deliver where appropriate technical updates

- Attend and contribute to NSF team meetings

- To assist the Client Manager with the training of new members of the client team

- To assist the Client Manager in the undertaking of duties as required in the UK/Europe Retail Integrity Programme

- Assist in the NSF management teams with: the promotion and continuation of the contracted services; preparation of statistical reports; technical support activities and support account management duties where required

- Where necessary assist NSF with: provision of interim management cover when the need arises due to absence

Our ideal Health and Safety Advisor will have the following skills:

- CMIOSH or Grad IOSH working towards CMIOSH

- Ability to perform audits in required disciplines for fulfilment of the client contract (H&S & Fire)

- Ability to work independently from remote (field based) location in West London

- Ability to autonomously manage and organise weekly duties to ensure successful delivery of assigned work by specified deadlines.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Willingness to work at client premises 5 days per week.

- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends

- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Knowledge/Skills and Experience

- A Level 4 Food Safety qualification

- Level 3 - Train the Trainer or equivalent professional training qualification

- Fire Risk Assessment qualification & experience

- Experience of safety enforcement work in local government or HSE

- Auditing/Inspection experience

- Full UK Driving Licence
