What will the role involve?

This role will support our Skills Support for the Workforce contract across Somerset, which provides support to employed learners. It will be recruited on a fixed term contract, working through until July 2018. You will work closely with both employers and their learners. Meeting company and awarding body requirements, you will manage your caseload of employed learners, advising and guiding them through their Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

Some of the main accountabilities will include:

• Supporting employed learners through their chosen health and social care qualification
• Providing learners with impartial information, advice and guidance to help them make informed decisions and achieve their career goals
• Observe and assess learners in the workplace, providing feedback and guidance to ensure learning standards are met and qualifications are attained within agreed timescales
• Assessing the learners' portfolio of evidence and signing off the award when necessary achievements have been met.

What skills, experience, and qualifications are we looking for?

• Experience from the health and social care sector and a minimum Level 3 qualification
• A PTLLS or equivalent teaching qualification
• A TAQA or A1 assessor award
• Maths and English qualifications at Level 2 or above.
