Job Description

The Council’s vehicle maintenance team is seeking a MOT Tester/Mechanic.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake MOT inspections to strict DVSA guidelines and undertake Hackney Carriage/private hire testing to the required standards, as well as assisting in providing a repair and maintenance service to vehicles, plant and equipment, for both internal and external customers.

You will have approximately three years’ experience of working as a mechanic/technician on diesel engines, petrol engines, transmissions and electrical and hold a DVSA nominated tester (Classes  IV and VII) certificate.

The workshop is open Monday to Friday between 7.00am to 6.00pm (5.30pm on a Friday) and there is a two week shift rota in place, alternating between and early and late shift.
