Salary: Circa £34,000 per annum (plus a flexible benefits allowance of £1,941 per annum)

Job Role:

The Council is seeking to recruit a new member to its Applications Support team. This is an ideal career opportunity to work within a professional team delivering ICT systems to the Council to develop and promote the digital provision of services to the community.

The AppS team supports the Council's line of business ICT systems and all aspects of data analysis. It also has responsibility for the overall delivery of new applications, system development, installations, upgrades and maintenance.

The successful applicant must demonstrate experience of leading on the support and implementation of complex business applications. They must demonstrate excellent problem solving and analytical skills and be able to mentor colleagues in these areas. A thorough understanding of Relational Databases and the infrastructure associated with data availability via traditional application software and Web based systems is essential

Working closely with the Application Support Manager, you will assist with the training of colleagues. This role provides an opportunity to utilize existing experience and gain support and development skills in leading Market technologies. Ideally you should be educated to degree standard and have excellent knowledge in some of following products:-

• OS Systems - Windows 2012
• Relational Databases - Oracle 12c, SQL Server 2014, Ingres, Access
• Reporting Tools - SQLServer Reporting Services
• Web Technology - ASP, .NET, XML
• System Analysis and Design - SSADM, UML, Agile
• Programming - Windows PowerShell, Visual Basic, Java
• Business Applications - Idox Uniform, Esri GIS, Capita Academy - Revenues & Housing systems, Capita AXIS Cash Management, Civica Workflow 360 or similar systems
