An exciting opportunity has become available for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering and ground remediation contractor in Guildford. The successful applicant will provide quantity surveying expertise, supporting the commercial manager with project costing for major earthworks and in situ bio remediation projects across the South East.
Applicants must demonstrate an engineering academic background, having a degree in quantity surveying or an alternative relevant business discipline. Preferably candidates would have professional qualifications and/ or membership of the RICS or another relevant Chartered Institute.
Communication skills are vital as you will be working closely with colleagues of various disciplines and liaising with all external and internal stakeholders. In this role you will assist in the preparation and verification of pricing models from first principals, assess contractor applications and make recommendations, and assist in raising payment certificates. Among other things you will also assist in the preparation of activity schedules, bills of quantities, the presentation of tender and contract documentation, attend interviews, and carry out tender analysis and comparisons through to preparing the recommendation report. As this is an important and influential role ideal candidates will have proven experience in managing high value contracts.
Knowledge of, and experience, in administering high value, earthworks and brownfield remediation project work packages/ contracts utilising forms of contract such as NEC3 is vital.
