Duties of all Employees

Principal Duties

  • The preparation and cooking of various food, snacks and beverages, in accordance with college menus.
  • Day to day supervision of staff within the unit ensuring that production is maintained at the highest standard.
  • Staff instruction and welfare.
  • To ensure that wastage for each unit is kept to the minimum and documented accordingly.
  • Ensuring the correct usage of all equipment and materials used by staff.
  • The satisfactory service of all meals with special regard to portion control and appearance.
  • To ensure the correct booking procedures are followed for hospitality.
  • To undertake counter duties which will include cash handling.
  • Ensuring the security of cash received.
  • Ensuring the unit is cleaned and maintained to the Food Hygiene Regulations Act and The Food Safety Act.
  • Maintenance and improving standards of presentation.
  • Operating daily checks and stock taking as required during shift.
  • To ensure documentation for internal monitoring systems are completed.
  • You may be asked to assist in functions or services outside your normal working hours.
