Salary: GBP37,410 - GBP40,872 plus GBP1,791 London Weighting.
Capel Manor College is London's only Specialist College for land-based studies and an internationally renowned learning resource for all those interested in Horticulture, Animal Management, Saddlery, Arboriculture, Floristry, Garden Design, Countryside and the Environment.
The College are currently looking for an Information Systems Manager to manage and develop an efficient, robust, and resilient converged network and systems infrastructure to support all teaching, learning and business operations for the College.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To manage and develop a high level of security and integrity for all systems and associated data ensuring that appropriate strategies, policies and procedures are implemented to provide for effective and practical business continuity
- To lead on research and development of new technologies in order to continually improve the College network, systems, security and associated services
- To lead, manage and develop the IT Team in order deliver first class services to all stakeholders and customers
As the College increases its opening hours to support flexible learning, the post may involve some weekend and evening work, which will need to be rostered. There will also be a requirement to work at other centres as and when required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A degree, HND or equivalent in a computer related subject with significant technical content
- Significant experience of managing, configuring and supporting a large enterprise wired and wireless network including switches and firewalls
- Experience of implementing systems to meet a variety of customer requirements
- Experience of implementing and managing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery processes
- Experience of providing an IT services in an educational setting.
- In-depth knowledge of network and telecoms protocols, sub netting, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Ethernet, wireless, and SIP
