To join this water quality specialist company as a Trainee Water Treatment Engineer, you'll need to be a good team worker and be willing to have a flexible attitude to work.

As a Trainee Water Treatment Engineer, the types of activities you might be involved in could include (after appropriate training):

- Monitoring of assets that pose of risk of Legionella.
- Legionella Control - installing water treatment equipment.
- Legionella Risk Assessments
- Chemical Dosing
- Closed Water System Treatment
- Water Sampling & Analysis
- Recording details of jobs done and materials used
- Following safety procedures at all times
- When qualified, providing customers with advice and guidance on water management and regulation
- Responding to emergencies such as evidence of legionella and treatment.

You would work 40 hours a week, plus any overtime as necessary. You may work a mixture of day shifts and some unsocial hours, as work can be carried out at night or at the weekend to minimise disruption at the client's premises. This is mainly an indoor job, conditions can be dirty and cramped, so you would be provided with protective clothing and equipment and appropriate training.

A starting salary of GBP15600 a year with bonus payments (after six months) linked to your progression, which will be reviewed regularly with your line manager throughout the programme. When qualified, your salary could rise to between 16,000 and 20,000. Overtime and shift allowances could also increase your salary.

There are no set entry requirements for this job although they prefer you to have a good general standard of education, at least three GCSEs e.g. English/Maths/Chemistry/Biology or equivalent qualifications. Practical skills / experience of plumbing would be a distinct advantage. Local knowledge of Berkshire and Maidenhead area is also an advantage.

They are looking for self-motivated, dedicated and responsible individuals. Good client facing skills are a must.

They are based in Maidenhead but the job may require travelling to sites around the country.

You will need a driving licence. Once your training complete, a company vehicle will be provided for you to carry out your job and certain essential (and valuable) equipment will be assigned to you which you will be responsible for.
