Following consistent growth in recent years with manufacturing sites in Europe, South Africa and the UK, this well-known and successful multinational, based near Yatton just south of Bristol, is looking for a Shift Production Line Manager to join their team. We are looking for an experienced, degree calibre person to work on our 6.30am - 2.30pm shift, Monday to Friday.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the sites factory production unit alongside other managers. The main purpose of the role is to lead the production team, ensuring all targets are achieved and health & safety is adhered to at all times.

Salary: depending on experience

The Role:

* Working in conjunction with the Site Operations Manager, Engineering team and QC team, ensure active leadership and management of safety processes and culture to minimise hazard, risk and unsafe events across all operations activities on site, specifically in relation to Lost Time Incidents, Workplace Audits, Safety Meetings and Risk Assessment Reviews.

* Ensure that quality targets are achieved through the supply of product to agreed customer specification. Focus on improvements with regard to product consistency, reduction of scrap, and total number of customer complaints.

* Supply of product for distribution on time and in full through full adherence to production plans, site cost control targets in relation to overtime, and control of stock at agreed levels

* Effective implementation of operations plans and activities.

* Working in conjunction with the Engineering team, ensure monitoring of plant condition and performance, and effective use of maintenance support to ensure on-going capability to produce required performance (Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) measures).

* Ensure Site compliance with statutory procedures and reporting requirements for on-going licence to operate, to include auditing of non-conformance and operating licence breaches.

* Operate in line with Company Rules of Business and Procedures

* Active visible management on site, to include maintaining factory performance boards and communicating to production teams and support personnel, and root cause problem solving.

* Performance Management of team through regular coaching and development, and quality face-to-face interactions.

* Inspire and lead the team in all aspects of operational improvement.

* Work in conjunction with Operations management to ensure the development of a committed, high performing operations team with specific targets in relation to absenteeism, staff turnover and skill / competence levels.
