A bit about us

More about the Hairdressing Apprentice role

You will work closely with our Hairdresser as well as our Beauty Therapist in our staff salon to gain an understanding of how our company values translate into the daily working life and the spa environment. You will have regular contact with all employees in the business on all levels.

Here's what you can expect to be doing

As our Hairdressing Apprentice you will demonstrate your enthusiasm for Hair as well as other treatments, whilst remaining professional at all times and also living our values to deliver great customer service. You will develop your skills the following areas;

- Time Management and Diary bookings

- Develop your skills in a functional salon

- Assisting with stock orders

- Assisting with all Hair appointments and other salon treatments also

- Gaining Knowledge on how a spa works

- Eventually progressing onto doing your own hair appointments on clients with the help and support of the Hairdresser

What will I be expected to deliver as a Hairdressing Apprentice?

A few things about you

As our Hairdressing Apprentice you will be approachable and have a caring and friendly personality. You will also have the ability to manage workloads independently whilst displaying organisational skills. You will have the ability to treat all of your clients with the same attitude and professionalism. Being a Driven, Fun and caring person you will strive to be part of our AO family.

Experience

- Holds a keen interest in hairdressing as well as some interest in developing beauty skills

- Thrives on being part of activities throughout education

- Willing to learn new skills and gain new qualifications

- Experience in a salon environment is desirable

Skills

You will demonstrate the following skills;

- Able to build and maintain relationships with colleagues.

- Have a good positive attitude

- Have effective communication skills

- Be methodical and have excellent time management skills

Technical

- You must be qualified in NVQ Level 2 in Hair

- About to start or willing to start an NVQ Level 3 in Hair

- Interested in gaining additional qualifications related to nails or beauty

- Basic education levels of 5 Grade C/4 or above desirable
