My client, a global Aerospace manufacturer, currently has an opportunity for a Planning & Logistics Group Leader.

Within this role, you will be responsible for managing the performance of people and processes and facilitating all planning and logistics needs. Strong people leadership skills are needed to deliver against performance objectives focused on continuous improvement and people development. Experience in lean manufacturing is essential.

Responsibilities:
*Ensure compliance to company safety policy within the value stream - reporting all incidents, accidents and near misses as per the company's procedure and implement identified corrective actions.
*Ensure awareness and compliance with all quality systems and procedures and carry out process confirmation identifying deviations and permanent resolutions.
*Contribute to the timely closure of permanent corrective action plans derived from key performance indicators.
*Responsible for the management of people, equipment, and support functions on shift to ensure continuous flow through the value stream to meet on time delivery for both internal and external customers.
*Primarily accountable for minimizing planning & logistics lead times within value stream.
Drive performance and improvements within the value stream, using practical problem solving techniques as required.
*Ensure that all team members are productive at their place of work for the full working time and take corrective actions as required. Address shortfalls in conduct and performance in a timely and appropriate fashion and where necessary initiate the companies disciplinary and / or capability processes.
Responsible for generating time management reports to ensure SAP is accurate with regard to unauthorised absence.
Co-ordinate and manage all tools and methods for data collection, recording, analysis and feedback required to enact an efficient planning & logistics process
Continuously coach and develop team members to ensure that team targets are
achieved: enhancing a people - focussed environment.

Experience Required
We are keen to see applications from candidates with a strong background in Logistics within a manufacturing environment. Ideally you will have previous experience in a logistic planning role, preferably in a management position. Specific programme planning, capacity planning, MRP, MRPII, and ERP technical
expertise both from a theoretical and practical viewpoint allowing full utilization of the
system functionality is desirable along with experience of implementing lean techniques
